Pilates Power Center is a fully equipped Pilates studio using equipment originally designed by Joseph Pilates and updated by Balanced Body equipment company of Sacramento. We provide one of the most well equipped Pilates studios on the Central Coast. We have five studio Reformers, five Springboards, five EXO chairs, a full Trapeze table, Split Pedal Chair, ladder barrel and many small props including BOSUs, stability balls and bands.
We offer private sessions and an extensive class schedule including Reformer, Mixed Apparatus and Mat with Toys.
The studio also incorporates the innovative SmartSpine system for private training. Developed by Pilates master trainer Marie Jose Blom, our trainers use the SmartSpine support props to help your body find its most productive positioning for exercise. By supporting the skeletal and joint system in alignment, the neural system is retrained to recruit the deep muscles while releasing the overactive muscles. The SmartSpine system assists you with learning breath control and proper alignment, and places you in the proper position to strengthen your deep core to prepare you for all of the Pilates repertoire on the mat and equipment. This unique system provides our clients with a better way to train for the results you want, including a stronger core, better posture, and improved flexibilty and total body strength.
Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve overall health. Exercises are performed on a mat and on specially designed equipment. The Pilates system includes exercises for every part of the body and applications for every kind of activity. Created in the early part of the 20th century, Pilates was so far ahead of it’s time that it did not begin to achieve popular recognition until the first few years of the 21st century. Over 10 million people are now practicing Pilates in the United States and the numbers are growing every year.
Pilates Power Center is a host site for Balanced Body Univerisity trainings. Please click on the Instructor Training page for more information about the program and upcoming trainings at the studio.
